Sleep is wonderful!

Today everyone woke up in a great mood! Why? Because we just finished night 3 of 12 hour + sleep of a certain little guy! We are so tempted to go out and buy more girly looking pajamas--sad I know! I hope this trend lasts! Last night was really good also. A coworker of Bill's came over for dinner with his wife and little boy. Their son happens to be one day older than our son! It was great; a good time was held by all. I feel like we will be hanging out with them outside of work more often. It was really cute to see the two boys interacting. I'm not sure if their son had ever been around another baby his age but I know ours had not! They kept touching each others face and arms. It was really cute.

It is going to be a busy weekend with Bill's middle brother, his wife, and 3 kids moving to Huntsville this week. It will be nice to have everyone together though! I'm glad Bill is off tomorrow. Hopefully we can get some errands run on Friday instead of taking up all of Saturday doing them!

So What Wednesday

So What Wednesday

I'm linking up with Shannon again this week for So What Wednesday! Here's what I'm saying so what to this week:
  • I have washed the same pair of pajamas for my son everyday this week. Why? Bc he's been sleeping for 12 hours while wearing his "girly" pajamas. We got them from some friends who have a girl and 2 boys, I'm sure they were the girl's pjs! I only put him in them because all the other ones were dirty. Now I wash them daily because I'm superstitious; I'm afraid he won't sleep! Sad, I know.
  • Speaking of laundry, all the laundry is still sitting in the baskets unfolded and not put up.
  • I've been having dreams that we were pregnant! While we aren't ready for another child, I'm not letting it bother me. It will happen when it's meant to.
  • I almost forgot to take Will's 7 month picture Sunday. I decided he is 7 months for an entire month so there would be plenty of time to get to it done. I ended up doing it that night.
  • I pretended not to hear the baby this morning. I knew Bill would get him and bring him to me in the bed so I wouldn't have to get up. Terrible.
  • I am not looking forward to making lasagna tonight. It takes alot of work, but Bill promised his friend that's what we were having.
  • I was so tired Monday night that I had Coco puffs for dinner.
  • I'm over this dreary weather! Where is the sun and why has it been kicked out of Alabama?? Bring on the spring!
  • My dad and stepmom got a puppy this week. I'm jealous. We've talked about getting a dog but decided we aren't ready yet.
  • I miss working sometimes. I love being a mom but I spent a long time getting my pharmacist's degree so I miss working. Because of this, I applied for a part-time/prn job this week. We will see what happens!

Crazy Week

We are having a crazy week so far this week. It is only going to get worse. The entire family has had a terrible cold. Hopefully, we are on the downside of it. Last night, Will slept 12 hours!! Thank you! We all needed it!

Also, this week my brother in law, his wife, and 3 kids are moving here. It is going to be nice to have everyone here but I bet it's going to be crazy the first few days! So Thursday, everyone will be here for dinner! Wednesday, we have people coming over for dinner and then my husband and some friends are going to fix my broken bumper! Hurray! It has been broken for too long!

Thankfully, Bill is off Friday so maybe that will help! After he gets finished with his 5k!

The past few weeks we've done really well with our meal planning. Thank goodness because we needed a plan this week. So here's what we've got going this week.
-Tuesday: pork chops, corn, broccoli
-Wednesday: lasagna rollups (Pintrest recipe!), salad
-Thursday: Grilled chicken, pasta salad, fruit
-Friday: Fish fry at church
-Saturday: leftovers!
-Sunday: Cheeseburgers, fries

7 Months Old!!

Sunday my little man turned 7 months old! I can't believe it has been 7 months since we brought   home! It has gone by so fast!

So what's new this month??
-Will is now 29.5 inches long and weighs ~20lbs
-He is wearing almost all 12 month clothes--we've got a big boy!
-He is talking all the time!
-He is sitting up now (when he's not rolling everywhere!). Still no crawling but we're not worried.
-He loves all noise making toys
-He has two teeth and another one on the way!
-Teething is still disrupting his sleeping but we are working on getting back on track
-He has his first cold now...boo!
-We are still working on solid foods. He eats a veggie at night and we try a fruit at lunch. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. He is still going strong with the breast feeding...the boy loves milk!

Look at that sweet smile!
I can't wait to see what the next few months bring!

Its been a while

It has been a while since I blogged. I guess I took an unintentional vacation. Out little guy is working on tooth #3 so sleep in not really happening around here. Some days I feel like a zombie walking around just trying to make it from nap to nap to bedtime. Hopefully, it will pass soon.

Also, I attended my first moms group this week. It was great. It was really nice to hang out with a few new people. I'm glad the first event I went to was a small group. Definitely less overwhelming.

So far giving up Coke has been going well. Better than I expected!

Hopefully, we can rest over this weekend and everyone feel better by next week.

Busy, busy, busy...

Photo: Somebody's super happy today!
Today is a really busy day! We are going home this weekend to visit my dad and step mom. So getting all the baby's things ready takes me forever! Traveling with a 6 month old is like packing as if you were moving in for a month not just for a weekend! I always have to pack up the majority of his/my stuff the day before or we will never leave on time. I always felt like I over packed for myself but after packing for him, I don't think so. If anyone knows how to pack less but still have everything we need for the baby, I would definitely like to know how you do it!

Additionally, I have to do all the laundry today. Can't pack until the laundry is done. The baby had a leak the other day which means we are down one sleep sack. We most definitely can not go without that extra sleep sack! There is no sleep around here without one. I feel like the sleep sack signals to him that its time to sleep, without it he thinks it's playtime. Of course, I had already done the baby's laundry for the week when this happened. I usually do ours over the weekend but since we won't be here, it's got to be today.

Luckily, I cleaned the house because we were supposed to have company over on Tuesday. They had to cancel but the house is already cleaned! Hurray for one thing that doesn't have to be done.

Thanks goodness Bill will have Monday off for President's Day! He can help me get everything else done when we get back--like the grocery shopping. We've been doing pretty good with meal planning. The worst part is the shopping for me bc it's hard with a 6 month old. He doesn't always like the sit in the cart or he tries to eat it. Hopefully, that will change soon.

Want to know how to feel like a culinary failure?? Try putting food in your crock pot while watching Top Chef! Yep that's me...terrible I know.

So What Wednesday!

So What Wednesday
For a couple month's now I've been reading So What Wednesday after I discovered Life After Dew (by accident!), so this week I've decided to participate! So here's what I'm saying so what for this week:
  • I gave up eating out for Lent and the first thing I see this morning is a pancake commercial for Cracker Barrel. Of course, I now want those pancakes and I have nothing to make pancakes with! How am I going to make it 40 days??
  • it's 9 am and my son is still in his pajamas. I have no intention of changing him. Like yesterday.
  • I haven't gotten Bill a Valentine's Day gift yet!
  • Last week, my husband bought advanced wrinkle cream instead of my usual moisturizer. I secretly like it better but won't tell him.
  • I'm annoyed that nothing taped on my DVR last night so I have nothing new to watch during the baby's first nap.
  • I had my baby 6 months ago and I still haven't bought any new jeans. My pre-pregnancy ones are too small even though I weigh less than I did before the baby. I'm wearing a size up but they are too big. Not fair. Time for a new company!
  • I'm over this cold weather. Bring on the SPRING!!

Motherhood

Monday my little man wasn't feeling well. He spent most of the day laying on me or napping. He was pitiful. Initially, I was frustrated because nothing was getting done, but then it hit me. A couple of years from now he won't want to spend his day snuggling with me. He will be more interested in playing and running around doing his on thing. I need to enjoy it while it lasts. All the house work can wait a little while and it did.

Trying to be a good mother is a struggle for me and a source of anxiety.  I worry I won't do the right thing or be there for him when he needs me. I feel like I didn't have a great example in this department. My mother and father split when I was beginning high school. After that she wasn't around much. I think that's why I was never sure I wanted to have kids but now I can't imagine life without him. I don't want him to think I'm not there for him but I also don't want to be smothering so it's a difficult balancing act.

I want my son to grow up happy and healthy knowing he has two parents who love him and are both there for him. Right now we seem to be doing great and let's just hope it continues to happen!

Randomness

--I haven't posted in a while. I have been seriously busy. In addition to looking for a job, my brother came to visit this weekend with his daughter and new girlfriend. She seems like a really nice girl and he seems really happy with her. Hope this works out for him. I just want him to be happy!

--In other news, I have seriously got to start eating better. Those evil Girl Scouts!! I bet I have had like 2 boxes of those cookies in the past week. Plus I have been drinking alot of soda. Can you say bad for me! I am going to try to do better this month. Wish me luck.

--Additionally, I sent my husband to Walmart and asked him to buy my regular moisturizer. I even gave  him a coupon I had cut out of the paper. He came home with advanced wrinkle cream!! Seriously, I am only 32. Do I really need that?? Once I mentioned it to him, he said he got that one because it was on the picture on the coupon and that he didn't even notice the advanced wrinkle cream. Guess I will believe him for now.

--Teething continues which mean less sleep than normal. Great! This is only the second tooth! Hopefully, things improve as each tooth comes in? Maybe, hopefully??
